5 Surefire Strategies to Knock Your Client’s Socks Off AND Stand Out From the Crowd

As business owners we spend countless hours fretting about where our next new client will come from.happy clients, grow business

In fact, we spend a lot of our time, energy, effort and money trying to get new clients.

Wouldn’t you agree?

This is a problem because, we not only end up feeling overworked and overwhelmed, but also leaving a lot of money on the table.

Yes, by spending every waking moment wondering how to attract new clients, you are probably missing out on a huge gold mine, right there under your nose.

The opportunity I am referring to is connecting with your current and past clients!

Oh, don’t get me wrong.  I do believe that in order for a business to survive, let alone thrive, you must have a consistent flow of new clients.

In fact, I am co-teaching a training webinar this week where I will be sharing an incredibly effective all-in-one marketing strategy that will help you get more clients with confidence and ease. Here’s the link to the webinar, if you are interested:  Yes, I want more clients and exposure for me and my business!

That being said, by focusing ALL of  your time, energy and effort on getting new clients, you are working way too hard and way too much!

Did you know that it costs 8-10 times more to gain a new client than to retain an existing one?

Also I am sure you heard that people who have already invested with you are much more likely to invest again, because they already know, like and trust you!

So, what can you do to re-engage current and past clients? Knock their socks off!

I am happy to share with you that will help you ” knock your clients’ socks off” (whether they are current or past clients) and stand out from the crowd, so that you can create greater income in your business without having to work so hard:

1. Do Something Kind and Caring

When was the last time you did something kind and caring for your current and/or past clients?  It doesn’t take much:  send them a hand written “thinking of you” or “just because…” note via regular mail (time to buy some stamps?), email them an article you think would be of interest to them, send them a quote or a photo that you know would brighten up their day, etc.

This not only makes their day, but also puts you and your business top of mind!

2. Refer Them to Others

That’s right, if they have a business of their own, or they are looking for a speaking opportunity or seeking help at home or in their business, reach out to your network and refer them or connect them to someone who can assist them or benefit from their service or expertise.

3.  Have a Conversation with Them and Reconnect

Often we think, I haven’t spoken to this person in so long, I can’t just email them or pick up the phone and ask them for a time to talk. Why not?

Simply reach out and tell them you were thinking about them and you’d love to set up a time for the two of you to reconnect.  Find out how they are doing, what they are up to and share what you have been up to and how you may be able to support them moving forward.

4. Make an Offer

Your clients are busy with their lives and are not always up to date with what is going on with you and your business.

So, if you have a new program or an opening for VIP Days or an upcoming teleclass, be sure and let your current and past clients know what you are up to and why you think it might be a good fit for them.

I have had private 12-month clients who have jumped at the opportunity to invest in an additional VIP Day with me, because they wanted the extra time, focus and personal attention on them and their business.

5. Ask for Referrals

Your greatest cheer leaders (besides perhaps your Mom, mine was my biggest cheer leader for sure) are your current and past clients.  Let them know that you are looking for new clients and ask them if they know anyone who could use your services.  If they do, ask them if they would make the introduction.

Let’s face it, when we are looking for any kind of support or help, even when we are looking to purchase anything, most of us turn to our friends and family (including our social media pals) to ask if they have anyone/anything to recommend.

We are more quick to trust someone who is recommended by someone we already know, like and trust.

And how does it make you feel when your friend, colleague or family member moves forward with your suggestion?  Most of us are thrilled to have been able to help!  Right?

That’s why referrals are so powerful!

Simple, yet powerful strategies!

Don’t underestimate the power of these strategies.  Although they are simple to implement, so few people actually do.  And that is where you can stand out from the crowd.

Who does not like to be thought of? Appreciated?  Have their opinion valued?  Everyone does!
So, what is something that you will do today to reconnect with current or past clients and show them that you really care and that they truly matter?
